What is a Place Plan? and how can you get involved?

The Bay of Colwyn is preparing a “Place Plan”, but what is a Place Plan? and how can you get involved?

So, what is a place plan? A Place Plan is your chance to make your voice heard by helping to produce a community-led document that can influence planning decisions. If it is adopted by Conwy County Borough Council, a Place Plan can form ‘Supplementary Planning Guidance’. This means all future planning decisions in Colwyn Bay will need to consider the Place Plan, and the priorities set out by local people.

This is about making sure the Bay of Colwyn has what it needs to thrive; now and into the future, including housing, transport, public spaces, local services and so much more.

This is your chance to identify what works within your community, what doesn’t work, what needs changing, and what needs protecting. In short, a Place Plan is a chance to have your voice heard and an opportunity to shape the future of the Bay of Colwyn.

How can you get involved?

This is a community effort, so your involvement is vital!

Over the coming months, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved, how and when you do so is completely up to you.

- Drop-in sessions in Old Colwyn, Rhos on Sea, Bryn y Maen and Colwyn Bay town centre.

- An online questionnaire

- Interactive online activities

- Workshops within local schools

- Online focus group events

- Youth art competition
